Trays and Trinkets

I was doing a deep clean in my house the other day, and as I was cleaning each room, I realized that I might have a small obsession with trays.  I might have them all over the place...and they might all have some kind of animal on them!  The point is, I love trays because they are pretty and hold clusters of pretty things...no, but seriously, they are the perfect item to neatly display things in any place of the house.  For example:

Reader Thoughts...

I received an email a couple days ago from a reader who had the following to say..."I don't know any fashion bloggers out there who admit that they shop at Ross!"  Now, I don't know if that was a dis or a compliment:)  I am in no way embarrassed about the fact that I shop at Ross, or any discount store for that matter.  I know there are so many people out there who cannot afford to shop at Nordstrom everyday (myself included), so I love to be able to show my readers that you can have stylish, trendy fashion at affordable prices.  To me, it doesn't matter where it comes from...if I like it, and it is inexpensive, then it works!  Anyway, I have another look today (from Ross!) and I hope you all appreciate it.  I love hearing feedback from readers, and honestly don't take offense to any comment...I realize I am putting myself out here, so I am prepared for whatever comes my way!  Thanks for reading and happy soon-to-be weekend!!

Oh, Nate...

Fist of all, I have to mention that my little guy started Kindergarten this week...he has done great so far, and I'm so happy.  Now that the first crazy days of school are behind us, hopefully I can be a little more organized with the extra time I have on my hands:)

Now, was anybody else sad when Nate Berkus' show got cancelled last year?  I loved it, because well, I am a little obsessed with him!  But thankfully, he has his yummy line over at Target to keep me from missing him too much!  I am in love with everything he has done so far, and I am now seeing things from his new line pop up lately, so I did a little round-up of all my favs...

Destroyed Denim

Anybody else getting a little itchy for fall weather?  I think I am officially sick of this hot, hot summer, and am getting so excited seeing all the cozy sweaters and cute boots everywhere!  Fall is by far my favorite season, so I'm ready for it.  One of the big trends I've noticed for fall, is destroyed/distressed denim.  I mean, who doesn't want big old holes in their knees, right?!  Well, the good thing is, if you like this trend, all you have to do is take a pair of scissors to some of your old jeans, and voila!  You are right on trend!

First Grader

 

Today was our first day of school...my girly started first grade, and I have to admit, it was a bittersweet moment.  I'm proud of the little girl she is becoming, but sad at how fast she is growing up.  She is my baby...made my dream of being a mom come true, and I just can't believe she is going to be with her peers more than she will be with her family now.  Such is life though...the days of being a mom are long, but the years fly by.  

 

She had a great day, so right now, that's all that matters:)
