Oh, Nate...

Fist of all, I have to mention that my little guy started Kindergarten this week...he has done great so far, and I'm so happy.  Now that the first crazy days of school are behind us, hopefully I can be a little more organized with the extra time I have on my hands:)

Now, was anybody else sad when Nate Berkus' show got cancelled last year?  I loved it, because well, I am a little obsessed with him!  But thankfully, he has his yummy line over at Target to keep me from missing him too much!  I am in love with everything he has done so far, and I am now seeing things from his new line pop up lately, so I did a little round-up of all my favs...

Destroyed Denim

Anybody else getting a little itchy for fall weather?  I think I am officially sick of this hot, hot summer, and am getting so excited seeing all the cozy sweaters and cute boots everywhere!  Fall is by far my favorite season, so I'm ready for it.  One of the big trends I've noticed for fall, is destroyed/distressed denim.  I mean, who doesn't want big old holes in their knees, right?!  Well, the good thing is, if you like this trend, all you have to do is take a pair of scissors to some of your old jeans, and voila!  You are right on trend!

First Grader

 

Today was our first day of school...my girly started first grade, and I have to admit, it was a bittersweet moment.  I'm proud of the little girl she is becoming, but sad at how fast she is growing up.  She is my baby...made my dream of being a mom come true, and I just can't believe she is going to be with her peers more than she will be with her family now.  Such is life though...the days of being a mom are long, but the years fly by.  

 

She had a great day, so right now, that's all that matters:)

 



We were meant to be...

If you follow me on Instagram, you will remember I posted about a coffee table I found recently that I quickly became obsessed with! (follow me @melissareys if you don't already!:)  Well, once I started dreaming about it, I realized that we were meant to be, and I'd better go back to the store and buy my little beauty!  Once I got there, I was elated to find that it was on clearance!!  Wahoo!  So, I sold my old ottomans, bought this beauty right up, and came out even in the whole deal!  That's always a plus for the hubs!  Here is the piece that I have been obsessing about:

I bought the coffee table at DownEast...it is originally from West Elm for $400(!), but I got mine on clearance for $70! 

So the moral of the story is, if you feel like you find something and it speaks to you...it probably means you two were meant to be together!  The stars will align and help you find a way to bring it home! At least that's what I tell the hubs! Haha!!

Aztec Nation

I love the aztec trend right now...its everywhere, from women's clothes to kids clothes, to interior design.  It's a fun pattern to play with, and I love being able to dress with it!  I found this skirt on clearance at TJ, and fell in love!  It's such a perfect material for this hot summer, but I'll be able to wear it in the fall with layers and boots as well!

Back to School: For Him

Today I am talking back to school for boys!  My little guy is headed off to Kindergarten this fall, and I am just so confused how I have 2 kids in elementary school now!  Crazy how fast they grow up...I don't like it one bit:)  So, here are my little boy's first days of school the past 2 years...just for fun:)

Here is my round-up for back to school for boys.  I have been so impressed with the clothes for little boys the past few years...they are so dang cute and funky.  When I was pregnant with him, I swear there was not a whole lot to choose from, but now you can pretty much get good boy clothes anywhere!

Back to School: For Her

Now that it is August, it is officially back to school time.  I can't believe summer is almost over...I have no idea where it went!  My kids are headed back in a couple weeks, so I thought I'd do a round-up for some back to school shopping.  First up, is for girls!  I love shopping for my girly, I have so much fun playing around with the different trends for her...and luckily, she is pretty easy with what she wears, she'll try anything!

We have a little tradition where I take the kids school shopping individually, then go to lunch or get ice cream after.  I love having one-on-one time with them, and they are always surprisingly good when they have alone time with mom!  Now, just for fun (and to make me get sad and teary), here are the last 3 years of first days of school for my girly.
